Weekend Reflections - the old Tulsa Y

20100113_2

I love the reflection of the sun off the tile of the old Y. This is a three year old photo. The building is now all boarded up awaiting its fate.

FIne pattern of windows in your building shot. Nothing like bright sunshine this time of year.

Given it's original purpose, I would think that a fitness facility or wellness center would still work in this building. There seems to be far more people living in very close proximity to the downtown area. I would guess that parking is the major problem area with this building. Still, it is a nice example of late fifties, early sixties modern architecture. Nicely captured.

I agree with Daryl - too bad its shuttered and probably doesn't face a very promising future! Great reflection for the day!! Have a great weekend!

The pale reflections seem to symbolise how the identity of this place is fading fast! Too many of these sad stories! Lovely perspective!

Not just Tulsa, but the whole of the world seems to be disposing of the old fashioned values in the name of "progress". I find it sad.

Intriguing facade with that windows. I like it.

Oh, too bad it isn't being used for something. It looks like a sturdy structure.

Aww darn I hate when that happens. Looks like it would have been worthwhile saving, but what do I know. Hope they have a nice new shiny facility.
