Saturday, son SuperPizzaBoy and I made a trek on Turkey Mountain here in Tulsa to replace a geocache of ours that had gone missing.
The weather was ridiculously warm, up in the 70's, and it was very dry.
Turkey Mountain had a lot of fall color. With the clear sky and sunny day it was almost sparkly.
It was very windy in Tulsa and the tops of trees on the mountain were being blown hard by the wind but it was still on the ground.
We pretty much had the place to ourselves. Some sort of mountain biking event was winding down by the time we got there. Once we got a quarter mile from the parking lot we only saw a handful of people in the hours we were there.
Good thing we went yesterday because it rained pretty hard up there Sunday and it got cold and overcast. We could use the rain, the ponds and lakes are getting low.
We were both tired by the time we finished but I think we both had a good time.

I walked alot also but now I think my days in the bush for fall colours are to and end. We now have deer hunting and Partridge Bird hunting season. So I am out of the line of guns aiming at me. Will just have to pick my pictures back off my dvds I made of everything while I was camering all summer, fall.

we did .. we took ours on Saturday too ... amazingly the park was empty .. well not empty but for a sun shine day with mild temps it was strangely without the many bikers, dog walkers and kid stroller pushers it usually has ...
That's a very pretty, woodsy area. I like the wagon wheel pic. Quite artistic.

I love to hike and since my husband has caught the bird-watching bug we have been hiking together quite a bit.
Is that wheel a good hint for where to look for the geocache?
This is such a gorgeous place to take a fall hike. Here I'm not hiking in shirt sleeves any more. Hope this cache stays in place.

I just can't believe how SPB has grown this last year. I bet you had to spring for a whole new wardrobe. This looks like a great area to explore especially on such a blue sky day. Turned cold here in Denver too, but will warm up again in a few days.

Beautiful scenes and a great way to enjoy the Fall foliage. There is nothing better than walking the trails in the Fall.
We had weather like that a week ago last Sunday -- 70+ with sun and yellow leaves about the only thing that seemed like fall. This weekend, the cold dreary weather arrived though -- it's wet and foggy. I may not walk again until we head south ;>)....your red leaves are gorgeous. And your son looks as if he's having a great time. I love that.
