Camera Critters - Jo the Llama

Meet Jo the guard llama.

Jo the Llama

We have friends who have sheep and other critters and the local coyote or wild dogs are kind of hard on them so they brought Jo in protect them.

Here she is striking a pose. Protective and Stylish you could say. That's one of the momma sheep next to her.

Ears up is good.

Ears back is annoyed.

You can tell the lamb is resting easy.

Jo looks like she would be a great guard Llama. Cute photos, thanks for sharing your critters.

I didn't know llamas make good watch dogs. Momma sheep and babies can rest easier now.

Cute shots. We are seeing more and more llamas on farms here in East Texas.

Great post, Yogi and I see Jo signals her emotions just like I do!

Jo should make a great watch lama. I understand peacocks are hired for that job also. But they are noisier.

Love these pix! We had a friend who raised sheep and kept a llama...he said the llama treated the sheep like his dumb little brothers -- patiently watching out for them, but kinda' sneering at how silly they were at the same time.

Makes me think of the kid book, "Is Your Mama a Llama?" Great shots.

Llamas are super guard animals. Many farmers here have llamas to guard their sheep and other animals too.

A guard llama! Just what every home needs. :) Love it!

Never too old to learn - I had absolutely no idea that llamas were the protectors of other animals. They look far too gentle to be protective.

I think I need a llama. They're excellent guards, but cute too.

How smart was that .. I wonder if they will shear her too .. they have great wool .. a tad stinky but also a great protector!
