Romeo and Juliette

Romeo and Juliet - Oklahoma Edition

Big Romance last summer on a ranch in western Oklahoma.

Unfortunately Romeo (the white one) split and hasn't been seen since. We don't know whether he made a clean break or ended up being coyote bait.

Danged rascal anyway.

Coyote bait? Oh how sad a thought. I'd much prefer thinking he's out there on the prairie somewhere enjoying his freedom.

They made a cute couple. Too bad Romeo has flown the coop.

I love this shot Yogi. Sure hope Romeo had a happy ending and is living somewhere with a new Juliet.

Nice shot. You captured their motion well in the dappled sunshine.

I thought donkeys were supposed to keep coyotes away from the rest of the farm animals, not be meals for them! I hope he had a better fate than that!

Now I'm seeing this in a different way. I reckon Romeo got tired of his faithful girl Juliet and decided to head off into the sunset looking for a bit of fresh, younger playtime. We all know what males are like who are too good looking for their own good. However, I'm thinking he's being a Jack the Lad and making hay before the good looks fade - it will all end up in tears for him. No way is he coyote bait, he's much too clever by half. I just hope Juliet finds someone who's more faithful and who'll keep her in the style she deserves.
